The Goldfish Council TM is a nonprofit charity with its purpose being research and education on the Goldfish, Carassius auratus. Breeding and line development have been in-place in North America since the late 1800’s. Over the last 15-16 decades not much is published and available to the public except for the difficult to find GFSA (Goldfish Society of America) magazine. The GFSA documents are now part of history and much of the detail is not recorded. In 2018, THC is going to start the year off with a Research Roundtable. Gary Hater, Rob Crosby, Amy Sims-Shonka, Bryan Rhodes, and Joshua McWilliams will host this event in warm and sunny Tampa Florida in the middle of winter. Our goal is to take some of the best Goldfish Breeders in the United States and have them share their advanced techniques, science and know how in a round table atmosphere instead of a lecture.
This is how it works; A team of two to three people come prepared with ten to twenty slides and / or illustrations to build the subject. After the first twenty to thirty minutes the topic becomes an exercise for the participants and the presenters. The facilitators, may stop the people from time to time to update subject matter and prevent diversion of the subject matter. Costs: Motel at airport, set aside rooms are $119/night plus tax and fees, Roundtable with lunch is $65. Additional fees apply to the optional trips on Thursday and Friday please contact Joshua McWilliams if interested in these events. Only 25 seats available, event cannot be oversold. Reservations can be made by going to goldfish.reeddynamic.com and look under events.
