The Canadian Goldfish Virtual Competition is an online goldfish show that will take place from January 18th – 31st, 2021. To participate, please see the details below and register by purchasing the number of fish you would like to enter into the competition.

Canadian Goldfish Virtual Competition Rules

This competition is only open to goldfish hobbyists located in Canada and entries maybe imported or locally bred. All fish shown must be the personal and private property of the registrant. This is a hobbyist competition, therefore, the entrant cannot be a goldfish professional. For purposes of this show, the definition of a goldfish professional is one whose primary occupation derives income from selling goldfish. Entrants cannot be an immediate relative of a goldfish dealer, an employee of a goldfish dealer, or an agent of a goldfish dealer.

All photos and video for each fish entry must be uploaded/submitted to Instagram using the following hashtag #TGCCGVC2021 by 11:59 PM EST, Sunday, January 31st, 2021.

Each individual participant is limited to a maximum of five entries and each entry will be $2.00 CDN. Payment is to be made via PayPal.

Benching Submissions: Three individual photos and one video of each fish is required.

Top view photo in a tank, bowl/container with a Canadian quarter (0.25 coin).

Video of fish in motion between 30-60 seconds in length.

As an open class, all goldfish varieties are welcome and will be recognized as such.

Judging will take place over the month of February 2021 by both Gary Hater (TGC Founder) & Joshua McWilliams (TGC President). All goldfish will be scored and placed using TGC Judging Remark Cards. Any contingencies not covered in these rules will be subject to the decision of TGC judges. Scores will be tabulated by TGC judges who will place the top scoring fish for the following awards.

Grand Champion- $100 Credit from The Fish Sempai
Reserve Grand Champion- $75.00 Credit from The Fish Sempai
Judges Choice – $50.00 Credit from The Fish Sempai
TGC Novice Award- $25.00 Credit from The Fish Sempai
